i have a 99 passat 1.8T

which would be better the short ram intake or a cold air intake.

which would give better performance

prices of good ones would be awesome as well.

Cold air is useless on an intercooled engine. The turbo heats up the "cold air" as it compresses it, this is why we have intercoolers and why the intake air temp sensor is after said part. get a short ram for faster spool up and better sound
