I need an automatic transmission for a 2001 VR6 Jetta.
I''ve had it for about 3 months.. bought it used..
76,000 miles... transmission is GONE.

Anyone know of a good place to buy one, or know someone with one for sale!?
Im from Grand Rapids, MI. I will drive a ways... or pay to get it shipped if theres a good price tag on it.

Michigan is a long way, but maybe call Brian at VW City here in Marietta, GA if you come up empty. His prices are really good and they know these cars inside out.

How do you know its "gone"??? Have you inspected your torque converter? Fluid level at the most basic? Its fairly rare for a mark 4 tranny to just be gone. Please expand on the matter if you would...

Im not sure if its GONE exactly, but it slips like crazy and wont shift past 3rd. It goes maybe 35mph tops and after that it has lots of problems. I manually shift it when I NEEEEEEEED to drive it, but I havent put but maybe 3 miles on it since it has happend. It made a clunk noise after I bought it about 2 weeks in, everytime I drove it. I dont want to dump a bunch of money into something if its needs a tranny in the end anyway. Thats why Im shopping for transmissions.

just call around to junk yards in your area chances are one of them has something.
