i have a 1999.5 mk4 jetta with a standard transmission and a 2.0 ...i need a used transmission and i need to kno what all transmissions will work for this car and what the exact transmission is called cuz im gettin one from a junkyard but i need to kno what all ones will mount up...but if i can ill try to get one outta the same exact kind of vehicle but if i can fid a cheap one that will work ill get it so plz hlp...im bout broke and i need my car fixed so help me out guys

I would get one with the same code just to be safe. There are 13 different 02J transmissions that fit the 2.0. Some have different gear ratios too. You''ll find the trans code stamped either near the gear selector or near the flywheel.
