2000 VW Jetta GLS 2.0 Gas No power, spits and sputters   Printable Version Volkswagen >> VW MODELS >> Volkswagen Jetta >> 2000 VW Jetta GLS 2.0 Gas No power, spits and sputters Page: [1] Login Message << Older Topic   Newer Topic >> 2000 VW Jetta GLS 2.0 Gas No power, spits and sputters - 8/4/2008 8:48:39 PM    Norm   Posts: 5 Joined: 8/4/2008 Status: offline My vw jetta GLS 2.0 Gas (5 speed) has no power and its spits and sputters a bit.  I cant take it on the interstate any more as the car BARELY goes 65 on a straight strech of road.  I have changed the engine oil and filter, spark plugs and wires (65$ for the wires???).  Any ideas what else could it be?  I am thinking it might be the ignition coil.  Is there a way to test it if it is? (in reply to Jrailer) Post #: 5 RE: 2000 VW Jetta GLS 2.0 Gas No power, spits and sputters - 8/6/2008 7:35:19 AM    Norm   Posts: 5 Joined: 8/4/2008 Status: offline Well I took it to advance auto parts and had them hook it up and it says Missfiring of the cylinders.  And my O2 sensors are bad....both of them...front and back.  I rechecked my wires and plugs, all fine.  I replaced the Coil and still spits and sputters.
