How do you compress the rear brake caliper pistons to install new pads?

Try to ask for the special tool used for compressing pistons. It is usually available at your local Autopartswarehouse store. This will absolutely save you a ton of time and aggravation.

put the old brake pad over the piston and use a C clamp to compress it, no specialties needed...

use a wrench over the caliper face,then use a c clamp and tighten it up.before you do this remove your brake cylinder cap. dont forget to replace cap when finished. turn the clamp slowly

the rear caliper pistons screw in I just used a 1/4 inch extension and welded the end to a peice of scrap metal and grinded out a small portion of it so i could hook it to a socket wench. it works great and makes it easy and cheap.
