Hello friends, I just got my first Volkswagen!!! I am new to the whole world of modifying and etc.... I got everything in my Jetta I wanted minus one feature... Xenon Headlights. I want to know what the cheapest and EASIEST was to add them to my car would be. I *preferably* would like to keep the current headlights them self and just add the bulbs if it''s possible. Any suggestions?? Also how would this affect the DRL?

I would suggest buying the direct upgrade from HIDKING on ebay, I think the quality of my german made HID kit is excellent. It cost me 125.00 and it plugged right into the factory harness, it was a replacement for my 9007 bulbs. The kit came with the ballasts, the wiring harness, and the bulbs which fit into my 9007 slots perfectly. I didnt buy the dual filament kit so I lost high beams, but hey who needs high beams when you got hids. Its like the highs are always on. DRLs arent affected. Duals are like 200. and they have every size bulb replacement and all color temps. Im running 8000k which looks like mercedes blue, 10k is even more blue but 6k is the brightest and looks white...

you could also buy Sylvania Silver Stars for like $40 at auto zone or other parts store.

I think he wants real xenon hids not cheap wannabe bulbs, nothing compares to the real deal IMO spend the extra money you will be happier and the bulbs lasts 4x that of silver stars or cool blues or any of that junk at your local parts place. Besides a set of replacement hid bulbs from HIDKING is only 20 bux, hmm I know what im sticking with...

I agree, you definitely get what you pay for! I want TRUE xenon, not the "I want to be xenon when I grow up." I want the cheaper way to get that. I looked at HIDKING and was impressed. Now here''s the thing, because I have a new jetta bodystyle, I won''t loose my high beams because I have a separate high beam bulb. I am a little concerned with wiring and attaching the ballasts for the xenons, it looks complicated :( and does adding them void my manufacturer warranty? My car is currently in the bodyshop getting a new bumper and headlight thanks to it having a 18 wheeler flat tire fragment thrown at it on the interstate.... (i only had the car 3 weeks :( )

Yeah you wont be sorry, HIDKING is great and I will continue to do business and everything is mailed from california and is real german equipment. Its all plug and play no modding the wiring harnesses. You just plug the ballast in line with the stock harness and the the bulb plugs into the ballast, the hardest part is figuring a cool place to put the ballasts haha. Its all factory quality waterproof connections. Its the shit for 125 or whatever its going for now....
