I just bought a ''72 Super Beetle.  In trying to learn as much as I can, I have found that a good way to increase dependablity is to replace the points ignition with a solid state set-up.  I have looked online at prices and have seen some for around $75.  Is it possible to make the conersion for about that amount of money or are there other parts that I would need to get.  I am also wondering which one is a good one.  There are many different kinds and I need some way of narrowing the choices down.  Any ideas?

keep a set of points and condencer in your glove box they can go bad with no notice and then yous s.o.l. on the highway without a spare set of points
