Im considering buying a Mk4 V6 4Motion and have heard that they get alot of problems with the rear differential, I was just wondering is does anybody know how common this problem is. Im wondering whether its just worth buying thr V5 to save any hassle in the future.

go AWD wish I had it, diff problem most likely occur from lack of maintenance or neglect, proper gear oil (preferably synthetic) goes a long way. As VW says "the fluid never needs to be changed" haha nothing lasts forever not even magical dub juice...
