Hi guys, I have a question for you. As I said in one of my previous posts, I don’t have a manual for my car and that’s where most of my problems come from. It’s a Golf IV, year 2001, 1.9TDI.
I have traveled for about 6000 kilometers with it since I bought it. I did the usual tests and services you need for licensing and insurance. Then, maybe two months ago, I crashed it. There wasn’t much damage, a little bit on the front side but it’s fixed now.
A few days ago, when I turn the key for one step (just to turn the power on, before ignition), the small LCD screen on the right side of dashboard below speed indicator (the LCD that usually shows how many Km you’ve traveled so far) says ‘service 2900’.
When I start the car it turns back to Km indicator. And the next day it showed ‘service 2800’. From then it stayed like that (2800).
I traveled 6000 Km so far and it never showed this message, but now it does.
So, could someone please tell me what does it exactly mean and what kind of service is required.
