Female about to buy a '97 Jetta GT. What are the major problem areas I should have checked out? 93,000 miles Black on Black 4cyl. 5spd.

rear axle bushes usually go round that milage. shocks.

see if it has a service history regular oil changes bla bla have all the fluids checked look underneath for rusty muffler etc check that everything works heater rear defrost all the lights cigeret lighter turn all the acessories on full blast and see if the car can take it at idle speed.batery corrosion look at the coolant hoses is the engine clean does it leave oil drips I could keep going but there is a start
