Hi, I have an automatic 2003 Turbo VW Beetle. It will not shift into gear & the brake lights do not work. I can mess with it & keep trying & then it will work (when it will shift the brake lights work). Someone please help!
Thanks in advance,
Starla

Sounds about right, might be faulty wiring or solenoid, we had another member with similar issues.

Your Brake light switch or (Stoplight switch as some call it), is not working properly. It is the little plastic switch mounted on the arm of your brake pedal. VW swapped mine out under a recall or warranty, can't remember.
