Hello, I joined this forum to pick up any tech tidbits I could from fellow vw owners and I also have a few of my own...

I have a 89 GTi 16valve which I modified slightly this past winter - I rebuilt all the front end - new wheel bearings, rotors, calipers, ball joints, tie rods, strut bearings and installed shortened body struts which I modified myself to house koni 1257 double adjustable race struts and ground control coilover sleeves with 500 lb/in eibach race springs. In the rear I installed koni single adjustable yellows which were special valved for high spring rates, ground control coil over sleeves and eibach 550 lb/in race springs. The cylinder head was rebuilt and the engine was reringed by a local race shop about 20k ago. The engine still pulls like a champ and the car rides fairly well despite the super stiff springs (thanks to the konis) and handles like a go cart. Very near future modifications include a header, a euro intake cam and power module along with wide band O2 sensor so i can fine tune the a/f ratio and get a few more ponies out of her.
