Hey folks,

I just bought a perfect condition Tornado Red 99 TDI. It's and awesome but basically no options car. No power windows, mirrors nuttin. I'm lookiing for a couple of suggestions.
Any thoughts on HP increases would be appreciated. Chips OK, but not looking to make it into a "tuner" car.
I will be using it mostly to/from work and dragging my sons around to soccer games and such.
Some of the stuff I have seen that interest me so far are:

Chip?
Any chips that can add a little extra punch? I don't want to have anything that would cause VW to get incorrect codes from the ECU when I bring it in for service.

After-Market mirrors.
I saw some mirrors that have the blinker in the housing like BMW and MB. Like I said, I'm not looking to make my(self/car) look like a 20 y/o is driving it. I don't want Carbon Fiber or anything fancy. Just something I can have painted to match. Also - note my mirrors are NOT power. Are the Jetta's pre-wired? Anybody know?

After-Market Headlights.
The Factory lights are supprisingly clear. I am considering upgrading to HID or the Halo type lights. I found some on EBay, but would like to hear suggested brands and quality issues you might be aware of. Again, I don't have factory fog lights, so would it be pre-wired under the hood and under the dash?

Also any other "suggestions" to add more enjoyment to my new little toy would be appreciated.

The only advice I can offer you is on the Chip. Most aftermarket chips will be supplied pre programmed with your VIN obviously and will not set codes. You just have to shop around, find places who offer core charges. I wouldn't spend the money on it though, unless you plan on opening up the rest of the car with an intake and basic free flowing exhaust. Most you could do is change up the shift points if an auto.

I dont' think they are pre-wired lol I don't know to be honest!
