Ok since january i have taking my car to the shop every single month for problems. THis week when i was at stop lights it would stall out. I than put it back in park and it turned over easily. it drives fine but it stalls out. I got a new MAF sensor put in a month ago and had my fuel injectors cleaned. all my vacumn lines are fine. I dont know what is causing htis and when it stalls out it doenst like shake the car it just shuts off im wondering if its the fuel pump, fuel filter or battery.

my best guess would be fuel problem, either through the filter or the pump. When you're at the light, or at a stop, if it starts to stall just double-foot it. If it's auto, push the gas to higher RPM's while using the brake, if manual, you could just hold in the clutch and tap the gas a little bit to keep RPM's high, either way it needs to be done to prevent the stalling until you diagnose the problem.

Yeah i actually put in octane 89 the other day and it hasnt stalled yesterday or today. i got this fuel injector cleaning that i will use when my tank if about empty and see where i go from there but yeah i have double footed it at stop signs but not today or yesterday i did the other day. how much does a fuel filter cost and is it easy to put in?

The filter job depends if it's an inline filter somehwere on rear end spliced into the fuel lines. It wouldn't be a difficult job if it's like that, they usually cost, just a guess, maybe $20-35, it's not that much. If I'm wrong I'm sorry...hope it works for you.

I wouldn't put the injector cleaner in on an empty tank...read the directions first, usually you drop a whole bottle in at once...depends on what you buy.

I dont see what the fuel filter or the battery would have to do with it. The fuel pump could have something to do with it. It could possibly be the fuel pump relay going out. The fact that the car still turns over when you attempt to start it means that the starter and alternator along with the battery still work. The distributer also is in good shape if it doesnt do your traditional shudder and stall. Like what happens to mine from time to time because i tend to lay into the gas and have advanced my cars timming which has caused my car to eat distributer rotors like tic tacs. anyhow have that checked out
