Ok, so I have owned a ton of VW's but not for a LONG time. My last one was a 66 bug with a sunroof which was in mint condition but that was back in 1977 when I was selling VW's. I've restored a bunch of them too. Anyway, enough history. I just bought a 2003 Bug for my daughter, it has the stock Monsoon sound system, but there is no CD changer. I'm told that the mounting bracket and wiring may alread be there, but the "stealership" didn't seem to know where. Could be in the truck, arm rest, glove box etc. I snooped around a little but didn't see anything. I'm guessing it's behind a panel somewhere, but thought I would ask the experts before I start tearing it a part. Anyone know where the CD would go and where the factory wiring for it would be? I found the amp back by the spare tire. Oh, and if it is behind a panel, how the panel comes off? (snaps vs screw, or combo). Also, are the CD changers made for the earlier beetles (say 98-2000) compatible with this 2003? I already had to change the headlight, what a pain that was. It was jambed in there so tight that I tweaked the bucket getting it out. Had to replace the bucket, but it went right in once I did. Sure are different than the old 66 (I liked those). Sure would appreciate any help. Thanks!!

It's in the trunk on the left side behind a carpet covered panel in my Jetta, it looks like the changer's already installed until you pop the cover off. Then you can see the plug for it. I'm not sure about the Bug though, but it may be a place to start. Jason
