Hi all- I have some problems with my battery being drained and I think it's related to my cooling system. My "after shut-down" cooling fan doesn't seem to be working but a circulation (I think) pump runs for a long time after the engine is shut off. I tested the fans-- both good. (Pulled the connector off the thermo switch to test them). It seems that the thermo switch is bad, but what controls this pump? I bought a Haynes (Very poor info- will be buying the regular shop manual soon) but these only cover to '00 bugs. I imagine something changed from '00 to '01? I also have a new coolant sensor to install but the engine isn't real cold (started it to put it up on ramps - and I live in Arizona). Anyone know about this coolant pump? Thanks for any help.
