I am wondering if anyone could give me some information on the VW Dasher Diesel. I can't find much about it anywhere. I have heard nothing but good things about the older VW diesels in the Rabbit's and Golf's etc. but can't find one of them in my town. There is however a VW dasher that I could pick up, but I am wondering if it is as solid of a car as those others. If anyone could give me some help I'd apprecitae it. Thank you

the dasher is one of a kind vw. i have owned them for 15 years, and drive a diesel wagon 1980 at present time. i did buy many parts cars from gas stations ,that the owners gave up on. i have many spare parts. check the body very close for rust, mostly the front clip, around the strut towers. the diesel engine is very simple to work on,once you get to know it. i have 6 engins and many engine parts. if it is cheap, grab it. good luck

Yeah, it's a really great car... Me and my brother owned one too...Though I lend it to my brother when some of his Volkswagen engine parts had a problem and needed to fix...
