We just purchased a 72 bug and find that the turn signals don't work. The light comes on at the insturment panel but there is no clicking sound like is usually heard and the lights don't blink in the front or back. Where is the best place to start looking. As yet we don't have any repair books or owners manual to go by any diagrams. We did check the fuses and they don't appear to be burned out next we were going to check the flasher, looked under the hood and found two box like objects located on the drivers side close to the firewall that resemble other flashers but don't have any idea which one might be the flasher, There also appears to be a couple more places in the same area where something might be plugged in but for now is empty. Any Ideas will be appreciated.
Thanks, Marle

Thanks for your time Patrick . All light bulbs are OK and we found our answer to the problem. For some reason the hazard switch "knob" has to be turned just right in order for the turn signals to work. So haven't eliminated the problem yet just know what is causing it. DIRTY SWITCH ? FAULTY SWITCH ???????
