i have a golf mk3 1992 -1993 model which has engine problems.

here are my problems:

it takes a fair few goes to start it up, sometimes have to rev it to get it going.

its uses loads of fuel.

it only starts idling correctly after a few minutes of tic-over. its runs at about 4-500 rpm if i dont press the gas pedal :S

here are the things that i have changed to try and rectify the problem:

spark plugs

distributor cap

coolant temp sensor

air intake sensor

also checked the wiring, and it seems ok, but i'm no electrician.

i did try for information from this forum before, but all that was suggested didn't help the matter too much

thanks

Will

thanks for the advice, i think what happening is that the pumps is working normally, yet the injectors aren't limiting the amount of fuel that goes into the engine, merely letting it gush in!

hmm, on later inspection the injector is mint, aswell as the pressure regulator membrane..

anyone know how much it would cost to configure a new ecu to my car?

thanks
