Anyone have problems with the temp gauges on their Jetta's? My 2002 1.8T's temp gauge flutters during normal driving, never going over the mid point, and then will eventually fall to the min setting. I'm guessing it's electrical, but not sure how to proceed. Any thoughts? Just another "quirk" that makes me wonder why we bought one of these.

There is a temp gauge sensor on the motor, usually on the side, but one or all of the wires that go to the dash could be chaffed. I had older car do that to me, flutter back and forth and then fall to min. It's because the wire was coming off, and then was off so it coudn't read. This is on an older car though, not saying this is exactly your problem, but it's a real good place to start. Let me know what you find....
