I just had my timing belt replaced in my Jetta. The car ran fine before it went out but now it runs rough (like on 2 cyl). The man that fixed it isn't used to VW so I don't know if he did something wrong. He replaced the belt, put in new plug wires and replaced two vac. lines. He called a local VW service shop and they said he set it up correctly but now it runs rough. I was wondering what the problem could be i.e. wrong firing order (what is the firing order) or if the O2 sensor is bad (no light came on) or is it something else. The dealer said that the belt only went on a certain way and the mechanic says it is on correctly. The compression is @ 150 lbs. in each bank. I need help so I don't have to tow car 75 miles to an authorized dealer. Any help is appreciated.

it sounds to me like the firing order is off, any dealership should be able to tell you the firing order.
