Hey I dunno much about beetles, but I just bought a house and my neighbor has a light blue beetle sitting in his driveway. My question is it looks like a 63 or 65, but can't tell. Also, what years are the super beetles, and what exactly makes it a "Super Beetle"??

From what i learned about them the super beetle had mover storage then the standered beetle. The super beetle also had the 1600cc motor. BEing a 63 or 65 it should be a standered beetle because i don't think they started making the super untill 1971? i might be wrong. Also The spare tire was repositioned to give more room for storage and i belive the fenders in the front are diffrent size then standered. Also the suspention on the super utilizes diffrent components. for more info vist Super Beetles Only.com

If you go through with the deal I'd be interested in taking the "parts" car off your hands for a Baja project I want to do. I don't need the engine or interior or lights as all of that will be changed anyway. Just keep me in mind and let me know . . .

a 65 has bigger windows all around, the rear quarters are a couple inches taller than 63 windows, super beetles are most commonly identified by there curved windshield but not all of them had that also they have struts up front instead of a beam front end.
