Hello
I just purchased a 2002 jetta 1.8t about a month ago...Impressive!
One problem, recently When I lock the doors, the horn isn't sounding. The alarm has been going off randomly too. Is there a recall regarding the alarm? Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing?

I havent heard of any recall on the alarm. I used to own an 02 Jettta 1.8T and no problems with it. I have an 03 now and the door open switch seems to have failed but thats it. It thinks my driver's side door is closed when its open. Make sure that all your doors, trunk and hood are all secure when you arm the alarm. I really sounds to me like one of those switches have failed in yours but left it thinking something is left open... Now that I have thought of it. You might wanna get that checked out in a hurry. If the immoblizer kicks in with your key in the ignition you wont be able to move your car nor remove the key from the ignition. I really dont know if it is really all that likely but it could happen.
