So I need to replace the head gasket on my '92 Passat.

I'm trying to get some advice from some guys before I takle the job. I know where I can get the kit, so far Napa is the only place that carries the stuff I need, and the VW dealer here SUCKS and can't have it for WEEKS.

Anyone done a head gasket job before? I'd like some tips for the V-dub, last time I did one was with my old-man on his V-8 Chevy Silverado, much different from the V-dub I4. Btw my engine is a DOHC I4 16 valve.

So I'm grabbing the kit from Napa (putting me down $150) and borrowing a torch wrench (for the timing belt, because I'm told the DOHC's have to be exact) grabbing a repair manual and taking notes. Any suggestions?

Car runs MINT otherwise, and I got it priced at 2K even with the head gasket blown. It was imported from Germany, haha everything is in German, and the speedometer is origanel with Kilo's on top, MPH on bottom, hahaha

thanks
Seth-
