Hey guys, I am new on this forum and I am not quite a techie with cars. I need some help because after 2 years of owning my Jetta (2004, GLS, V4) I ran into my first problem. I hit a bump in the road or a stone or something of that sort recently when I was driving. I didn't think much of it since it didn't feel like a serious bump. The following day my car started squeaking and creaking like an old door with a rusty hinge and it was pretty loud and seemed to come from the front right hand side of the car. This creaking happens especially whenever I hit the brakes to slow down or when the car goes over a bump and so I assumed there was something wrong with my suspension. I went in to the Deel VW service down here at Miami. They checked it and have told me that something was wrong with my subframe and it will cost 1300$ to replace. Is this a reasonable charge? I had no idea what a subframe was. So can someone with more experience and mechanical knowledge please advise me on this? Thanks very much! Raja.
