What size pipes work best on the mrk3 VR6?
im figuering on a 2.5", being a fairly high reving 6. is this right?
i have a mate that owns an exhaust place, but i havent seen him yet, so i dont know what to do.
Is there much off the shelf pipes for the mrk3 vr6?
i plan on using a pair of 2.5" rolled tips, and a straight through system

3in. would prolly be better, if you plan on running a turbo, like I am. I have 3in. so hopefully soon I will run turbo.

my knowlage of exhausts tells me that a 3" pipe on a n/a car of mid capacity will couse the car to make bulk power, but very high in the rev range, while sacrificing bottom end, important for quick corner exits, and launches. a 2.5 pipe, would move the power curve lower in the range (compared to 3") while flowing better than the stock pipe, and still reving well.
i dont plan to turbo the golf, i just want to give it more go.

3.0 inch on NA = less torque dont do it. 3.0 for turbo = YES

Double that with me, 3.0 is for big power apps, t3 turbos or heavily modded motors...
