I had travelled 38 miles from the dealer in a brand-new '07 Rabbit when the timing sensor failed and the car jerked to a stop. As Donald Rumsfled says, "stuff happens." So am more than willing to accept this failure as in that category. But am curious if this has happened to others: is the timing sensor in the New Rabbit a problem area? Tks.

I've got over 5,000 miles on my 07' Rabbit and have not had a similer issue. My right rear brake pads stuck on me once. Didn't slow me down, but the pad was against the rotor and put off that horrible smell that scorched brake pads have. Had VW check it out, no issues, never happened again. I chalked it up to the same thing... "stuff happens."
