Racing? Drag or course? Keep a "tippy" (auto for drag, you'll never shift as fast with a manual)

oh and btw, I dont' know about the VW tranni's but generally to convert any FWD auto to a manual takes a custom kit and crap load of cash. -Jeff

Yea...manual is a lot more fun, automatic can get boring, but if you have trip it's kinda the best of both worlds.

Well, tippy shouldn't take away from your time. You don't clutch, so it's just like auto, yet you have more control over the shift points. The only thing thats gonna take away from your time is lack of experience, street tires, weather conditions, etc. but since you're doing only 16's, you're doing as best as you can for what you got. Best advice I can give you is learn your car inside and out, learn how to drive THAT car, know every inch of it. Every car is different, including identical make/models every one of them has its own character. -Jeff
