Well i have a 96 Jetta that is refusing to spark, I have replaced crank sensor, distributor, plugs, wires, and coil and still nothing. I even went further trying to get other questionable problems checked off and i replaced the wiring from the motor to fuse box and ECU and starter. What could be the problem? Everythings works. Its sending fuel to the injectors and the timing is right its just not giving any spark.

How do you know you're not getting spark? What tests are you doing that tells you that? Maybe you got a bad coil...did you replace the solenoid?

Yeah I replaced the starter. I borrowed my neighbors voltmeter and hooked it into the coild plug and it said there was none going to it.

hey when ever you read this, try this stick a screwdriver in the sparkplug wire and put the driver onthe intake manifold, have a friend start the car to look for spark. if no spark check ground wire straps, loose connectors, animals might have chewed the harnessyou never know

not a bad plan but not sure if i like the idea of doing it on the intake. why not just use a plug that you know works (like from a lawnmower or dirt bike or sled) and use that to test?

Yea that's right....use a spark plug, that way you can tell if the plug is fouled out, and maybe that's what's goin on. I also like the animal theory, as weird as this problem, it's prolly something weird like that, that's happened. Def keep all of us in touch!!

I tested all of the wires and everything and fuses and relays and checked the plugs. I was nrevous that i would get zpped but indeed the car still has no spark. Its getting plenty of fuel though. Also before the car went down it was running rich. Could this cause a no start?
