I have a friend, he was looking for a Volkswagen Antenna and he got with a great discount at dubautoparts.com...if they have a parts for a volkswagen, just maybe it can also help you to buy a 2000 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE GLS for a favorable price and help you to do a research about it...

I actually just bought an 2000 GLS 2.0 last July. Nice car, got it with about 75K miles. Aside from one accident I was in which caused some issues, it has given me a few unexpected hiccups. Mostly mechanical issues. Depending on how much your willing to spend, you might be better off getting a newer one if you can. maybe in the '03-'05 range unless you know exactly what the car has been through. The extra $3k or $4k you spend you'll save within a couple of years on repairs & maintenance. Hope this helps...

Dynasty, I own one and I love it. Aside from the stuff I (and others) do to it, it runs great. However, one thing you might want to think about that I didn't is getting work done on the car. Do you have someone who works on VW nearby? How long would it take you to get parts? I have had several occassions where not having a VW dealer nearby has caused me some problems. (I got my car at a Jeep dealership because someone had traded it in for a Jeep.) My car has an excellent trade-in value even at seven years old. I recommend the New Beetle to you but I advise you to think about it in all aspects first. P.S. TIRES! Each year, VW makes 9 or 10 different styles of locking lugnuts for beetles (anti-theft mechanism.) You MUST make sure you have the key to take that lugnut off. There is one locking lugnut per tire. The key is supposed to come with the car in the trunk with the jack and spare. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't get my first flat tire off b/c the previous owner did not replace the key! I had to have those locking lugnuts broken off! Now all the tires are bolted on. Most bugs come with nice tires, also. Be prepared to pay $75 for a new one.
