Which is the better engine?? I know that the 1.8T is a bit faster, but besides that, what engine do you recommend. I thought about getting a 1.8T, but I figured that if I come across an opportunity on a VR6 for a good price, I should go for it. Any ideas????????????????

Oh here we go....The 1.8T motor is the way to go these days, just because there's tons of parts for them. The VR6 motor was what everyone wanted because the power that you can make from the little motor is unsurpassed. The MK2 and 3's with VR6's were the monsters, now the 1.8T is what everyone likes. Right now, my VR6 will beat a stock 1.8T Jetta...unless the people I race suck, my car's pretty quick. Personally I would go with the 1.8T if I wanted to race it all the time, street or track, whatever. If you're not worried about racing, but want to stop those Hondas whenever they rev on you, get a VR6 and mod it. Either way, VW's are really expensive to work on, and it's gonna cost you no matter what motor, car, model, or whatever you buy. GO GERMANY...lol

word... what he said, only way to know which youll like better is to drive both, i love my 1.8 but man a vr6 would be sweet too, there are a lot more mods for the 1.8 i think being turbo which means more chances to spend money on it too. tough call man, both are great. and yes bagel... go germany

LOL..Yea Blade, where were you on that one?? I was hoping you would've got to this early...you're like the outside guy in an engine battle between Joelzy and me, and everyone else that has opinions on this matter. It's all good though, we have fun with it....
