All I can say at this point is.....wow....I had no idea how widespread interest is in VW. My wife recently purchased a 2001 Golf that I sort of envisioned her in and she instantly agreed that the car was for her. Since she purchased the vehicle I have found myself to be the guardian of its well being. So far I have tended to significant coolant issues (wrong type, coolant loss......manifold leak, etc), sound system issues, shift linkage issues, installation of a "thermal pad", etc., etc......all of which have be a learning experience in more ways than one. I have been able to see the immense amount of info available online (forums like this one), the unique way/s that VW does things and the ingenuity of the maunufacture. Hopefully perhaps I can contribute 1/10th as much as I have extracted from this forum. Ed
