i have an 01 jetta wolfsburg 1.8l and when i let it sit overnight or for a while i try to start it up and the vehicle starts then immediately shuts off.  If i give it a little gas when i start it it starts and runs, but studders for a minute then it will run fine.  Its the only time it does that is cold start up.  Any advice?

It's almost normal for cars to do that when it's cold.  All those fluids in the engine just sitting there, it's all good, no worries.
