Hi, has any one got problems with water leaking into the car? I have an 03 TDI passat (RHD) and the footwell in the rear behind the passenger seat is wet. I have had most of the usual places apart and all seems ok. There is a heater duct under the front seat and I think the water is coming from that, so logic says that it must be getting into the heater system somehow, the car does not lose any water from the engine. Any suggestions?

common fault. would be 100% that the water leak is from the pollen filter housing. presume your in the uk, if so main dealers should do this foc under reactive repair if your vehicle mileage is under 100,000 miles. this needs sorting urgently there is a ecu under the passanger front footwell whick will end up getting dameged and the wiring joint will corroide normally affecting alarm central locking and interior lamps. also check the the drain under the battery is not blocked also normal fault. trust me i work for a main dealer and have this fault on passats atleast 2-3 times a week. i hope this helps.

Ok thanks for that, I have had an incident a few days ago where the car would not unlock for ten minutes or so. I will tell my mechanic to persue the dealer option, the car has only done 28000 miles in three and a half years. It doesn't get much use really due to the fact that I have a van that I use for work, so the problem wasn't seen straight away.

Hi. I am new to this forum. I have a 99 GLX and last week I found a large amount of water in the rear driver side floor. I dried it up as well as possible but now my interior lights and "door ajar" buzzer are all whacked out. What should/can I do to remedy this, short of taking it to the dealer? HELP!

How did you dry it up? Hair dryer or iron works the best....
