I own a 99 Golf. I got into my car yesterday and when I shut the door and turned the key to the ignition the alarm randomly started to go off. My remote for the alarm has been broken for months so I was unable to shut the alarm off that way. So I let the alarm run out and tried to start the car again and the alarm immediately started to go off again. I tried this two more times and it continued to do the same thing. Is there any fuse I can disconnect and then reconnect to reset the alarm? Please help!

you can use your key to disarm the alarm. I had the same problem with my 99 jetta. it was happening for like 2 weeks and then just stopped and it hasnt dont it since. I would like to diconnect the alarm too but havent been able to find a wiring diagram to do so properly. hope that helped

You know, I had a similar problem with my 2000 Passat. My alarm would just start randomly go off. Come to find out, the alarm wire was scraping up against the belt, and the belt was fraying the wires. So I got new wires and got them protected, issue fixed!
