It's all about making the engine breathe better. Basic, depends on your vehicle setup, you'll have to shop for these upgrades, if they have them for your engine type, make, and model car. Otherwise, you'll have to custom make things like a cold air intake, or have custom made headers. Cold Air Intake Headers (High Flow Exhaust Manifolds) High Flow Performance Exhaust (Custom from downpipe back) Performance Chip (Upgrade computer) Lightweight Rockers (Not for beginners) Mild Cam (Not for beginners) I'm dead against using NOS, especially just starting out and definitely not in a stock engine. It's dangerous, mostly illegal and a cheap way to make momentary horsepower.

Get better tires for your launches! That's if you're spinning of the line. tighten up the suspension, minimize the weight transfer otherwise use that above list to gain horsepower and torque.

Im with JSD listen to em, knows his stuff for sure. Intake and exhaust are the easiest upgrades starting out. There are a few chips for the car, varying in HP gains, the best deal i could find would put the 1.8T to 222 for about 450 bucks. I cant remember the company but look around, according to what ive heard talking to people that know more than myself, APR is the best exhaust you can buy for this car, but its pretty pricey, lookin at 1000 bucks for a turbo back. also a boost controller could be a good addition as long as youre careful suspension and tires for launch like he said, and just practice by yourself sometimes. no harm in practicing, i lost a race i should have won when i first got my car because of a bad launch. spun all the way through first and couldnt grab at all, but now i know the clutch and can launch ten times better. Do some research on it and find the options you want. If it werent for a warranty and college loans to pay off id be at about 300 horses by now, because of all the crap ive found just lookin around. this car is ridiculously customizable, and so many companies make soo many parts for it. thats all i got -joel
