Hello everyone, as you can see I am new to the forum. I came here seeking some help with my 2000 Jetta TDI. I hope this is the right spot to post this. First of all let me say that I am not a very car savvy guy. Also, my car is a standard and has about 113k miles on it. Now to my problem. A few weeks ago after some hard acceleration, my engine light came on after driving about 80 mph for maybe a minute. I was worried that I did something to the car and planned on taking it in to the dealer the next week (it was a saturday). I think it was tuesday of the next week and my engine light suddenly went off. Well, about a half hour ago I was driving home and my engine light came on yet again after booting the car up to 80 mph. Can anyone tell me what might be going on? Not to ramble, but when I first got the car and took it out on the highway I got it going slightly over 100 mph. Now, I notice that the car doesn't accelerate nearly as fast, and when I have the pedal to the floor I can only go about 85 mph tops. I don't know if these two problems are linked to one another, but I'm just trying to supply some more information. Any information to help me out would be great.
