Whats up guys? I just bought an 04 GTI 1.8T tiptronic, and I am looking to do some simple modifications. Intake, exhaust, and maybe drop it a little bit. Could someone help me out on a exhaust with a nice tone but not overbearing, and a good intake (not cold air because weather is unpredictable at this point) I would appreciate it.Thanks

Do not get a full exhaust, Unless you are getting a turbo upgrade. Just get a muffler and weld it in the place of your existing muffler. also, Do get a Cold Air Intake. It'l help alot regardless of the weather condition. Get an AEM cold air intake. Good brand. got questions? E-mail me at Electroliquidsoccer@yahoo.com. I have an 02 GTI. If u want I'll tell you what things I regret doing and what I dont regret.

why not do a cat-back exhaust from magnaflow, from what ive heard, whewee, makes those tiny four cylinders sound pretty nice. and AEM is a great brand for your intake, no oils or anything which is nice, and if you only wanna go a but lower, i have the Eibach pro set but the street set will keep you a little higher. (im down like 1.5 inches +-) i have the neuspeed short ram intake, and that was literally a 20 minute install and i don regret it a bit! plus it sits in a nice place and no tubing needed!

Stock air-box cold-air intake FTW!
reversable if you dont like it, costs a couple duckies for the piping and about 50 for the K&N, couldn't be happier with difference it made. just as good as a cold air being that it pulls from the bumper, sure you have to clean your K&N every once in a while but its totally worth it and you save a lot.
just my 2cents
