When i start me vw passat, it intermittantly starts on high revs about 1200 or so, i have noticed that the coil light stays on for a very long period of time when this happens. I know that it will start okay because the coil light goes on and off quite quick (about 4 seconds), when it starts on high revs it stays on for about 15 seconds. Could this be the coil that needs replacing, as it seems to tie in with the coil light on the dashboard. I have already replaced the MAF thinking it was that. Anyone any ideas before i spend more money on solving my high rev start problem (the high revs last for about 2 minutes, and then go back down to normal revs). Also how much is a replacement coil in the UK :) Cheers
