Hey guys, new here. I'm considering purchasing a '95 VW Golf GTI... The owner doesn't know much about it, but his brother built the car. It has a 2.8 liter engine swap in it, it's torn to Hell, and basically I'm buying it for a race car to beat the Hell out of, and not feel guilty. Haha But considering it has 150,000 miles, 5-Speed Transmission, that engine swap, NO interior, good paint aside from the hood, and in need of some TLC... Do you think that car is worth $1,000? I'll post up pictures and more details tomarrow when I know more. Thanks in advance,

If the engine itself has 150k miles on it and the body is pretty solid, yea i'd think it would be worth $1000. If the engine is absolute garbage, (as well as the trans) offer $500. -Jeff

The car runs strong as Hell... And the only reason I'm buying the car is to throw it around the race track, I'm not even titling the car. Anyway, I know my Audi is Hell on the wallet... Are Golfs in the same bag?
