lloydi -> Exporting a kombi from Aus to UK (8/15/2004 5:57:25 AM)
|
Sorry if this is not the right forum, but I am a newcomer ... and I couldn't see anything more appropriate. So here goes: I am considering ecporting a Kombi from Aus to UK and have a whole heap of questions. If anyone can help answer *any* of them I'd really appreciate it! * Will I need to change the odometer/speedo for UK use? Currently it is recording Kms and Km/h? * When the van arrives in the UK, can it be driven away on temporary plates, or do you have to trailer it away? * Is the van going to need any kind of road-worthy certificate before leaving Aus, or is it a case of putting it in a container and worrying about that aspect once it arrives in the UK (an MoT test) * What documentation is usually required for exporting a vehicle from Aus to UK? * Is the cost of export calculated on size (diensions) of the vehicle or weight? * Can I put other items inside the van to be shipped back too (treating the van like a rather large shipping container itself!) * How long does it normally take to ship from Aus to UK? * Do I need to notify WA Transport or QLD Transport departments? (The van has a QLD registration, but I am in WA, and that will be where it would ship from)
