Ok, so i'm new here. However I'm not new to Diesels. I have also owed 3 VW rabbit pick ups, two of them i drove until the body was gone, then pulled motor used it again. Here is my question: Do you really get better mileage with a diesel engine if you add TWO-Stroke oil to the fuel? There has been much debate about this around my shop. One old time driver swears he gets much better mileage when he dumps in a quart of USED engine oil every fillup. Still another swears by TWO-Stroke Oil. I understand that the lubrication isn't there like it used to be in the Diesel, but come on! Is this Really a good idea? This sounds like a Mythbusters episode to me, but what do I know.

I think they are pulling your leg, is one longer than the other? The used engine oil would add dirt and whatever else is in it , the two stroke oil would not help any at all. Diesel fuel is nothing but low grade kerosene with a small amout of engine oil added for lube of the pump. Adding too much oil can burn out the injectors and carbon up the engine causing less power.
