Throttle response????

2slowjet -> Throttle response???? (8/2/2007 12:06:45 PM)

I just recently taken hold of my first volkswagen, a 2002 jetta GL. Slow I know, but I LOVE it.

I am having a problem, I just pust a AEM cai, and a magnaflow catback on the car. It sounds great, and it has a little more power, but there seems to be a bit of lag in the throttle response. I give it some gas, it seems like it is delayed before you feel and hear it enter the motor, and exit.

Does anyone know if this is common with this set up? If it is, is there a way to fix it.

Also I am considering switching my cai out for a APR carbonio's carbon fiber??? Anybody know any detail, or have good things to say with this.

correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't your car have drive by wire? my GF's '01 jetta GL has it and i notice the same delay you're talking about and it's really annoying! i don't know of a remedy but if anyone here does i'd like to hear it, too. my guess is that has to do with the communication between the gas pedal position signal and the throttle body receiver?

   Got a 2007 Jeep Wrangler, it's a drive by wire, it has a
small lag on the throttle as well, it's life with the new
crap the manufactures are shoveing at us, Don't know of
a fix at all. It is as you described Acuratech...........

Drive by wire sucks, I know your pain too. You can always tune up your car for better driveability. Try using full syn oil that can help release some trapped power too...
