I just bought a 2004 GLI 1.8T. I'm new to the German market. I would like to do some mods to the GLI but without stressing the engine too much. The car has 43,000 miles on it, don't know if that matters or not. I have heard about chipping especially, chips from APR. I have also heard about diverter valves. What other mods or mods period are out there for my car? I have done some reasearch but i think it's best if someone who knows more about the car than me tells me what to do. My main worry is to not blow the engine or stress it too much. thanks

well, youre in luck, i love helping people like this...haha. Anyways, chip is good, great in fact. APR, GIAC, or REVO, go with one of them. Next, you should look at a new Diverter or a Blow off valve, but i recommend a DV. go with one like baileys, apr, GFB, or forge. You can look into getting a K&N panel filter and smoothing out your air box, that, or look for a good cold air or short ram, especially if you want the extra added sound and growl. Next, look into a downpipe and cat-back exhaust. In that time period sometime i would recommend lowering your car too, get some H&R's or something like that, just look around on vwvortex. you can also look into a bigger intercooler, maybe a front mount or a new side mount. By that time, you can look into going big turbo. just RESEARCH as much as possible BEFORE You do ANYTHING
