So sad...my rear drivers side door was completely smashed in and scratched from hitting a wall. I could not afford to replace the door so I let a random "mobile body work" guy try to fix it. I paid him 150 to pull the dent out and try to buff the scratches. I walked away for a while and I came back to him painting over it with what looked to be like spray paint. He said after it was buffed it would be glossy like the rest of the car. He lied..... The paint on the whole door is extremely dull and uneven...looks just like it got spray painted with something from wal-mart. Is there anything I can do at home???? Or will I have to go to a body shop and have the whole thing re-done??? Or is it best to just replace the shell of the door all together?? Any help would be appreciated! THANK YOU!

you might be able to wax it over and over to get it to shine. but if this does not work you are going to have to take it in to an auto body place

From the way your explaining the work done, sounds like he
sprayed it with clear coat. After it drys and if he put a thick coat on
like he should have. Then you sand the clear coat with 1500 or
2000 grit wet sand paper and a sanding block. After you get it
smooth it will look gray in color,  then you buff it with buffing compound and a electric buffer. But you have to be careful not to
over do any of it. and take you time, be gentle.
