name is dman. i have a service buisness were i make house calls. a shriner contacted me about 74 bug with brake issues. i went to look at ride n find out if i could help. i mainly service US vehicles but must help shriners if possible. so passenger rear axel nut gone and washer welded in place. so my question is if i torch weld should axel "pop" out of trans like US frontwheel drives? or is there some sequence i need to be aware of before i commit? thanx 4 help

yes rear axle slides thru brake hub/drum. when buying parts year and type are specific. super beetle is different and convertible is like super beetle
