I have an 03 VW Beetle Convertable, and I have already had the motor and cables replaced on the drivers side window.  Now the back window is stuck in the down position, motor turns and grinds......does anyone else have problems with this.
I think my car is possessed.....but love it none the less

This happened to me in June. I have a 04 convertible beetle, my back passenger window went down and never rolled up! It took me forever to get it looked at by the dealer. Thankfully I had an extended warranty (75000) and once the part was ordered and arrived form Germany, an entire month later, it was fixed. Thank goodness it was covered. It would have been in excess of $900.00! The dealer told me this was happening a lot. Now I am having problems with the convertible top not wanting to go all the way down! Argg!

My wife has an 05 convertible.  The rear window started going up half way then backing down automatically.  We opened the panel and found a part that two window cable ends are conected to was broken, made of plastic.  We went to the dealer to see about a replacement and found out it's a common problem.  If not under waranty it will cost $650 in parts not including the labor.  Also parts are out of stock and at least 20 day back order.
