left the lights on and after jumping the car, the brake light blinks and the ABS light remains on. there is also a tone that rings 4-5 times when starting it up.

will this go away after the battery charges more? should i just replace the battery?

thanks.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if all power is lost from the new beetle the abs and other components have to be recoded. The four dings are from the brake system light. You can confirm this if you had to reinsert your code into the radio to get it working. When you change the battery you have to keep the system hot with a jumper in a power outlet to prevent this. Recoding is done at a dealer or authorized repair facility. Hope this helps you out a little.
