Should brakes go all way to the floor on a 73 Super Beetle, had new brakes and master cyclinder put in THurs and I am concerned brakes go to floor, mechanic told me they would do that ???? my first beetle again since 1969
|

absolutely not. maybe he installed the incorect master and or brake cylinders. both are different on a super beetle as compared to a regular beetle
|

thanks I will take it back to him Monday I could not stop it and had to use emrgency brake wow scared me Marcia

I think if it were me I would find another VW tech, The brake pedal should be at least a 3/4 pedal and firm. The old beetles are bad about blowing the fluid line going to the rear brakes, it's located under the rubber floor mat on the drivers side, they rust out from water getting under the rubber and not drying.
