I think I rank as on of the newest classic VW lovers. I thought they were kindda a joke, but the more I looked at them I realized that they were the model of form and function. I liken them to a chinese brush painting. Anyway my G/F got a VW bug and didn't feel like it was worth fixing it up but I desided "hey why not"? So I'm starting in on it. I am soo confused as were to start, it doesn't run, the tires are white from rot, and yeah. Could someone tell me where to look for a VIN? The only clues I have are that it says 1300 on the trunk and it's a rear engine air cooled, other than that I have no clue. I want to get it back into classic shape. I'll post pictures when I can get some. Cheers! MJ

check on the dash on the drivers side, look through the windshield, if not, it will be in the engine compartment somewhere, thats my best guess......as far as getting it running again you have to overhaul the electrical/ignition and fuel...and see if she'l,l kick
